I am off this week-end to my group's Quilt Retreat at Boonah. I'm all packed and just about ready to go and pick up a couple of my friends. Boonah is only about 45 minutes away so not a long drive. Now have I packed everything? I hope so as there is nothing worse than working on something and you have left half of what you need at home.
My Gardeners Journal blocks are packed . Am just working on the last one now, still a bit of stitching to go, then the sashing and borders. Some Secret Santa stuff and then a bit of fun stuff.
Here is my second last block of my Gardeners Journal.
I am also going to join the Friday Night Sew In as well. If you want to join in just click on the logo on my side bar and add your name to the list. Normally I would be in my sewing room on my own but this time I will have 12 of my friends sewing with me. Lots of other girls have joined up from all over the world and you can check their blogs out on the weekend to see what they got done. I will post on Monday.
Well must go, my retreat waits. Have a great weekend........ Hugs......
I'm looking forward to a great 2016. I have so many UFO's that I would like to complete this year, fingers crossed I will be able to do that and have time to spend with all my quilting buddies as well.

Quilt Show, 2 Finishes OPAM, Another GJ block
Yesterday I went with my friend Jan to the Brisbane Quilt Show. Of course I forgot to take my camera so took a few photos with my phone. They aren't great so will just show a few of the beautiful quilts that were on display. The 2 photos below were made from the same border piece of fabric and was one of the challenges given to any quilter who wanted to enter. The face was just stunning.
Some very talented people as can be seen by the above three quilts.
Two of the red work quilts. The display of these quilts was wonderful. Of course there were lots of traditional quilts as well. It took quite a while to view them all but was time well spent. The photo below showing the quilting on this piece is what I would like to aspire to. Wonder if I will ever get there?
Today I stitched the buttons on these little place mats made from Lucy's Crab Shack fabric by Sweetwater. I bought the little kit from them but forgot to also buy the pattern so just made my own up. The pockets are for holding your cutlery. Very cute , I think.
I have completed another block in my Gardeners Journal. Still stitching away on the last two blocks. Posted this on the Stitch-A-Long blog a couple of days ago but have been too busy to post on here until now.
Well, that's all for me tonight. Happy Stitching till next time......

Gardeners Journal Update
My Gardeners Journal quilt has been on hold for quite a while but with urging from Chooky, co-ordinator of the Stitch-A -Long blog, I am working on it again with a view to complete the quilt top by the end of October which is the proposed deadline.
Here are a few photos I have just posted to the Stitch-A-Long blog. The first photo is the one I have just completed. Love the bug.
In the last photo are the spaces left for the final three blocks.
Hope you have a great week-end. Be back next week with more I hope. Hugs.........

Show & Tell from last Sunday.
As promised, here is some show and tell from Sunday's blog meet.
I took along my Natalie Bird Quilt, my Mystery Quilt and latest journal cover for my show and tell.
I have been busy this week working on my Xmas swap presents and also working on a couple of my blocks from A Gardeners Journal quilt. I started this quilt as part of a Stitch-a-long and sort of got side tracked along the way. I just wanted to let you know Chooky, I will post some photos soon of these two blocks and then just two more to go. Have until the end of October to at least have the top completed. Am cutting it pretty fine but I will do my best.
Well am off to my room to get a bit more sewing done. Till next time.....Happy Stitching.......

October Blog Meet
Just a quick post tonight. Here is a piccy of the ladies who attended the blog meet today at Victoria Point. We met at 10.30 am although I got a little lost getting there and was a bit late. We had the best day. Took along some stitching to do as well as some show and tell. Will show those pictures another day. Lunch was delicious and the company was excellent. Lots of laughing, story telling, eating and we still managed to get some stitching done. Thanks to Maree for sending me the group photo and also a big hug for arranging the day.
Till next time.... Happy Stitching.....

Lady A Concert, OPAM Finish
This is the view from the balcony of the hotel where we stayed in the city on Saturday night. The Lady Antebellum concert we went to see was fantastic. In the two and a half hours they were on stage, they sang most of the songs I like so I was very happy.
A couple of photos from the concert. Sorry they are not the best but the floor was vibrating so much it was hard to keep the camera steady.
Above is my only finish for this month another Journal Cover, made with Hometown fabrics and also a printed label from Sweetwater as well. I have a few journals on the go as they make great gifts.
Happy Stitching.... Hugs........
