OPAM, 1 Xmas Item a Month, 12"Mini Swap......

OPAM is here again with another month ending. Thanks to Peg and Kris for hosting.
My finishes for September.

A Xmas ornament  and a sneak peek of a 12"Mini which is still in transit to it's new home.
The ornament is for 1 Xmas Item a Month hosted by Narelle and the 12"Mini Swap was hosted by Cheryll.   Thank you to both of these wonderful ladies.
Yesterday, I received my mini from Maria. We both attend the Sunday Stitchers group so it was a surprise to see Maria's name on the parcel.
Some blue fabric, special glass head pins from Manchester, a chocolate fudge bar which my hubby has his eye on and my very very cute Mini. Great  caravan fabric.

I particularly enjoyed reading Maria's little notes on each of my gifts. Thank you Maria, I love them all.
Well must go as I have lots to do this afternoon.

OPAM/1 Xmas Item a Month finish, 12"Mini Swap.

The past week has been a bit of a blur with Jake (my GS) home from school with an infected knee due to falling off a friends bike. With visits to the doctor's surgery each day for dressing changes, entertaining one bored 10 year old with lots of word search games, the days just flew by. He is on school holidays now so his Mum is looking after him for a few days.
On Sunday I finally got into the sewing room to put the last stitches into my 12"mini which is now finding its way down south to a new owner.
This is all I can show at present until I hear it has arrived.
I received my mini from Kim today and I must say I love, love, love it so a big Thank You  Kim. I haven't got around to taking a photo as yet but will do so tomorrow and post it very soon.

My one finish for OPAM and 1 Xmas Item a Month is a Angel Xmas ornament. I love this pattern and have made quite a few already with still more prepared ready to stitch.
This one I decided to put some little rusty bells around the outside and am really pleased with how it looks. What do you think?
Well it is late and I am going to help my son clean out his garage tomorrow so an early start is on the cards.
Till next time........ Happy Stitching.........

Only 1 finish for OPAM

Where has this month gone? Thought I would get heaps done but not to be, so this is my only finish for  April.
A Christmas stitchery by Rosalie Quinlan.
I have also completed another stitchery by Rosie that we were given at Let's get Stitched in March when she was a surprise designer. I am thinking I will put it in a stitching hoop so just have to find time to go out and search for one the right size. Rosie added my name and hers on the bottom so this makes it more special to me although she did this for most of the ladies at the stitching day. She is one gorgeous lady.
My hubby had some time off as well so we headed off on a mid-week hot rod run to Tarampa pub for lunch (about and 90 minutes away).
It was a great day so here are some photos of us waiting for our lunch and the cars lined up outside the pub.

Well must go as I want to finish the quilting on a table topper today. Then I can work on the binding tomorrow night for FNWF. Sign up is now on over at Cheryll's blog so if you want to join in, head on over to here.
Till next time ................ Hugs...........

1 Xmas Item a Month, Back from Retreat

Here is my I Xmas Item a Month finish for March. You can find all the other finishes by clicking on the logo on my side -bar. Thank you to Narelle of Pins and Whiskers for running it again this year.
A Snowman Ornament to add to the gift box.
Firstly I would like to thank all those lovely ladies who left me a comment on my last blog post wishing me a fun time at my retreat. I definitely took your advice and had a very enjoyable 5 days. There was lots of talking, laughing and eating going on, as well as catching up with some old sewing buddies. I also got to meet some new ladies so new friendships were made as well. I was a bit slack with taking photos this time but here are a few to show the venue and also what I got up to.
Views outside our cabin.

My sewing space, Everyone working hard, Dress up Dinner on Monday night. Our meals were wonderful with lots of salads, fresh fruit , tasty main meals and freshly baked morning and afternoon teas and supper.

Here is my place mat, the theme this time was stars and hexagons plus the colour gold. I worked on my Cabin in the Woods table topper from a couple of years ago, just need to layer, baste and quilt it now.   Started to put these blocks together and made this hexagon flower in a mini class. Just needs a button in the centre.
Here is my name badge and we all got one of these click-clack bags to store our bits and pieces in made by Sue the camp co-ordinator.

I have some show and tell photos but will leave them until next time.
Till then Happy Stitching.....................

Another finish for February OPAM.

This is my 1 Xmas Item a Month finish for February.
It is a Michelle Ridgway pattern called A Jolly Holly Gathering and can be found on Michelle's blog. I am a bit late in getting this finished as I began stitching the blocks last year along with Michelle and a couple of other ladies and I am the last to complete mine.  Thank you Michelle for asking me to stitch along with you, I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
I chose to stitch it in a Cottage Garden Thread called Mistletoe and am very happy with how the threads look.  I chose a couple of Nancy Halvorsen fabrics to complete the blocks and finished the quilt off by adding a hanging sleeve to the back. All I have to do now is find a hanger for it.
I am hoping to have one more finish for this month so best get out to my room and get sewing.
Till next time........ Happy Stitching..........

OPAM, 1 Xmas Item a Month, Let's Get Stitched.

I don't know what is happening but here we are in February already and January is but a blur.
I again joined Kris and Peg for OPAM this year and sadly I only have one finish which was my 1 Xmas Item a Month. This year we have a dedicated blog for this and once signed up with Narelle of Pins and Whiskers, we can add our own post to the blog, which I did, but I also need to show the photo on here for OPAM.
I have quite a few things on the go though and so hope I will have a better tally of finishes for February.

Lastly, I  am also working on my mug rug and bus trip badge for Let's Get Stitched in Melbourne which I am attending this year. It is on from the 6th to the 9th of March. I am really looking forward to making new friends and catching up with some old ones as well. Quite a few of the Queensland attendees are all on the same plane heading down south so that may be interesting. Hope we're not too noisy and get thrown off the plane!
Well that's all from me tonight. Happy Stitching till next time.
