Last night I joined in some sewing with by blog mates for Friday Night with Friends. I only joined at the last minute as I have been trying to catch up on some blog hopping and noticed it was on. January sure went quickly so I guess we can't expect this year to go any slower than 2012 did.
I managed to work on a couple of things last night. I have been trying to catch up on the 4 days without my machine and am behind with my first finish for 13 UFO's in 2013 over at
Maria's. Below are photos of my backpack.

Did some stitchery to the centre of the flowers to hold the doilies down. |

Stitching the pockets on. |
Whilst sewing the pockets on, my cat Oscar and a neighbours cat decided to have a big fight right outside my sewing room door. It was pouring with rain as we were in the middle of a storm so as Oscar was pretty wet, I decided to stop for the night and take him inside to dry him off. By the time I got him dry, I wasn't tired so did a little stitching on this for my February SAL 2013 project. Have changed the stitchery wording and used the house and tree stitchery which is from another book by Natalie Bird. Have made this bag before for my Secret Santa Christmas Swap so as I am making this one for me decided to use different wording. Am using a variegated green thread. Sorry the picture is not the best.
So in all I was happy with what I got done. A big
